Whether you’re stocking the school library or looking for your next class read, our list of inclusive chapter books is a great place to start!
Books are a central tool for learning and development, and the books we use in our classrooms send a message to children about who is valued in our society and who isn’t. For a young person, seeing someone who looks, acts and experiences life like they do can make them feel included and valued in school and in wider society. For members of majority groups, inclusive stories can challenge their preconcieved ideas of the world and support with developing empathy and compassion.
